Just a little curious is there anything interesting to see in that part of Michigan. I'll be there in the middle of the month on vacation might want to try and go out one day. Visiting none divers so they don't know where to go.

I know there's a couple shops in town. One over on west side, I think. There's some wrecks in the East Bay I believe.

I've got a little guidebook to Micigan underwater preserves - and it looked like there were a few wrecks out there in Grand Traverse Bay, and if you go a little west to the west coast (Glen Haven, sleeping bear point, etc) there are a LOT of wrecks listed there. Most are listed as being in 0 to under 30 ft of water on the west coast, and the Traverse Bay wrecks are deeper but all listed as accessible by "novice" divers. Just keep in mind that the water there isn't going to be very warm.

Thanks for the advise I've got the sister who lives there looking up the shops so I know where they are when we go up. Water temps don't matter to much to me we do cold water all winter in PA only stop when lakes freeze over if even then. 7mill farmer john seems to keep me warm for the most part.

I am going up there to go backpacking on North Manitou island in September. There looks like there are some great wrecks in the Manitou Passage. I wish that I could get a dive or two in when I am up there. We are also heading over to Makinaw city and going to Makinac island.
