Hehe. Advertising Scam?
Either way, let it soak overnight in Louisiana Hot Sauce. The next morning attack it will either an SOS pad, or some steel wool. Once the rust is gone coat it will some 3in1 oil (or atelast rinse and dry after every dive) |

If it's rusty, then it's not Titanium. If it's TiN coated, it will rust. Even some steels that are classified as "stainless", like 13-8 stainless, will rust. I've not seen a corrosion problem with 17-4 stainless steel though....

Well, being a 420 stainless... yes... that will rust. I'm not sure what the titanium coating is supposed to do - other than sound cool on a marketing standpoint.
420 is a very hard steel, but it rusts pretty easily (as you have seen) and the only thing to do is clean it after each dive, and then cover the blade with oil after cleaning. 300 series knives will not rust... they are the type of metal you have in your home silverware... your forks and spoons don't rust... but they are not that sturdy, and can bend easily. In a knife, that means it can dull rapidly as well... but no rust. So then the only real way to have a non rusting and sharp knife is another alloy like titanium. And while titanium is very expensive, there are some good deals to be found on titanium knives... Oceanic Titanium Knife, Dive Knives, Oceanic, Oceanic Titanium Knife and UK has developed a new allow called Hydralloy and that is another knive that will hold a good edge and not rust Hydralloy Blue Tang Knife, Dive Knives, Underwater Kinetics, Hydralloy Blue Tang Knife |
