Light cuts out

My wife has a C8 sunlight and it will cut out at times. If you tap it, then it comes back on. It has 2 bulbs and it cuts out on both. I've examined the bulbs and they appear good. Thinking it's something internal.

Looking for ideas??

Check the battery and switch contacts.

Be careful rapping a light with a hot bulb. It sounds like intermittent connection like batteries maybe not making good contact. I use a pen eraser and shine dull spots on batteries and where the battery makes contact with strip/bulb. I have also had problems with the light.

Thanks for the 2 reponses. I already checked all the connections and everything "seemed" good. However, I'm going to give them another looksie.

Again, thanks for the replies.

I went over the connections again and this time I noticed that one of the connectors was "slightly" out of alignment. I'm thinking this would explain why it you tapped it that it started working.

I tested it several times and had no problems. We'll be diving this weekend (wife's light) and she'll use it and carry another primary as a backup in case of failure.

Hopefully this is it and I've saved a couple bucks.

If you're still having trouble, there's a lifetime warranty on those that the manuf. is good about honoring. Give them a call and they should swap you a new one.

Good to know ... my DH's seems to always have problems, and I think we checked everything you all mentioned .... maybe we can get it switched out. Mine works just fine!

CompuDude - Thanks for the reminder on the lifetime warranty!! So far, the light has tested good. If it fails again, I'll give them a call.

Again, I appreciate it.
