Atomic Reg servicing

My Atomic B2 has just reached 2 years old and time for servicing. My concern is....In September I am headed for Bali/Wakatobi. I have had a couple of people who said I must get in the water with it before I go...In fact years ago I had problems with a reg after servicing it was an Aqua Lung not an Atomic....It is not possible for me to test in CA waters as they are not 82 degrees.

So any heads up on how I can test this throughly before I go?

Pool test it. That will be alot warmer than off your coast. Have a great trip!

Why does it have to be tested in 82 degree water? Why can't you test it where you are in CA? Just do a long shallow dive. Or take along a pony & do a normal dive. I don't see why it has to be 82 degrees. Am I missing something?

that flew right over my head... if it's good enuff for cold waters, it will definatly not freeze over in 82F water... but either way, if you have time, shallow dive it as BSea mentioned, or with a buddy, reg. dive it... and f you cant, then hop in the bool and hang out at the bottom

Should be a general good practice to test it, regardless of brand. At least in a pool or local lake/quarry. I'm however also lost on having to test it at certain temps.

Yup, I'd say a long shallow dive. Surely there is water there warm enough to dive without a drysuit.

Took my reg in for service at my local LDS. I requested a "wet test" after service. One of the instructors will take it for a class in a pool to make sure it is working OK and I will also test before heading to Wakatobi.
