before you do any polishing, get the thing wet and see if the scratches "dissappear" when underwater.

I've got one computer with several scratches on its lens. when it's underwater you can't even see them.

If it's plastic, "Brasso" brass polish is a great scratch remover.

I was going to say the same thing.
I have a Oceanic VEO250 that I removed the little screen protector for better visibility. The entire face is all scratched up, but you cannot see a single scratch under water.

A guy I work with told me "Future" floor wax is 100% acrylic and fixes scratches in plastic very well.

See, this guy knows what he's talking about.

(Flitz is plastic/acrylic friendlier than Brasso, though - not as abrasive and doesn't get the 'chunkies' as it dries)

I have a question about dive computers. I am going to pick one up for the first time and I was wondering what type I should get? I am a advanced diver and I will only be doing rec diving so I don't need anything fancy and I want to keep the price below 200 dollars. Also would it be better to buy one used for a great price or pick one up brand new? Just wondering because some stuff you get used is good while some stuff you get used is bad. I didn't know about computers.
Thanks

I was just thinking the other day how cloudy my headlights were looking. Didn't know you could actually "sand" them clean. I may have to try these. Has anyone used these and know how well they work on headlights?

jewelers rouge or crest

we use either jewelers rouge and a buffing cloth or crest tothpaste. Now my wife tried CD reconditioning cream and a CD polishing cloth. It took out the scratches and then we buffed her unti with RainX. works for some things.

If the scratch is deep enough for a finger nail to feel, then I would suggest using Novus 3, then Switch to Novus 2, then Novus 1 once the scratch is gone to clean the lens.

Novus is for plastic and it works wonders. I have used it for years on scratches on Pinball Playfields, Lexan, CDs, and other plastic things that get scratched.

I would highly recommend it for any plastic.
