I highly recommend the Zagg screen protectors. They're not expensive and have a lifetime warranty. I recently got them for my Suunto computer and camera LCD screen. They are pre-cut to the right size and simple to install.

The material they use was developed for military applications... protection for the leading edge of helicopter rotors. It's gotta be some pretty tough stuff...

I haven't used my comp since I got the protector though, but I did find a lot of positive reviews on them which convinced me.

Also would it be better to buy one used for a great price or pick one up brand new? Just wondering because some stuff you get used is good while some stuff you get used is bad. I didn't know about computers.
Thanks
I can easily afford to buy brand new; but, IMHO, it's always better to buy a used one at a great price. Just make sure you buy from a reputable person or store. Check it out real good, dive with it if you can. I have bought lots of used stuff over the years and only got ripped off once. I go to the scuba flea market near Clearlake, Texas every year and get some great deals. It's hard to get cheated on a knife, weight belt, fins, wet suits or masks...stuff like that. All that being said. I have always bought my regulators brand new from a reputable dealer. Pretty much everything else I get used.

before you do any polishing, get the thing wet and see if the scratches "dissappear" when underwater.

I've got one computer with several scratches on its lens. when it's underwater you can't even see them.
I am pretty sure once I get it wet I won't be able to see the scratches at all; but, part of scuba diving is "looking good" and to tell the truth I am a little anal about my equipment.

I plan on doing a couple of old Casio watches first with a couple of different methods to see what works best.

Thanks to everyone for all the great suggestions!

I used to use Future floor wax on my shoes that I used to wear for inspections while I was in the military. It worked great and put a mirror like shine on my shoes without all that spit and polish. 'course if you walked in them very far the polish would crack.

Great idea, I will check it out. Might be good on my iPhone too!
PS: I ordered it today at ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | iPhone, iPod Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield should be here in a couple of days.

If it is a plastic face there are plastic polish and scratch removers at the auto store.
Anyone know what the face of the Oceanic Pro Plus 2 is made of?

Zagg invisible shield

I installed the Zagg invisible shield on my iPhone this evening. It was very easy and it looks great. It is much better than the shield that came with the iPhone. Now I am going to order them for my Dive computers and my laptop.

Word of caution, make sure your screen is immaculately clean as whatever is on the screen will be there when you put the shield on.

Hey Everyone, I found something that works great: Clear Bra material; the same stuff that they put on the front of your car hood. Go to any place that installs 3M Clear Bra and most likely, you'll get it put on the face of your computer for free! It is very transparent, and prevents scratches! It's also waterproof!
