My subduck doesn't really 'quack' anymore, it kind of makes a farty noise that doesn't really attract anyone's attention. Is there anything I can do other than cough up for a new one?

That's funny, because whenever I make farty noises I always get attention.

This same thing happened to a friend of mine. Solution: Tank banger or shaker

You could open it up and see if an o-ring went bad... some sand got it it, etc. The company that distributes those is ideations - the owner is a friend of mine Dave Hancock.

Their web page is divealert.com (same guy that invented the above water dive alert distributes the underwater one too).

You could shoot them an email from there and I'm sure he can tell you what is up.

Maybe the people notice, but misunderstand and are trying to be polite...

they are a great item... i dont quack at everyone, just in classes and stuff... how are peoples opininons of subduck vs hammerhead ?

I got the Hammerhead instead of the Duck on Larry's recomendation, Of course now that I have shelled out for the Hammerhead AND the Dive alert they have come out with the Combo unit...one more toy to blow money on.

we dove with a dive master that carried a caribeaner in his hand to use as a tank banger and to back off the reef with out damaging a whole hunk of reef
