Water in my SPG
I went for a dive yeasterday and I had just put on a new SPG a few weeks back and when I was cleaning my gear I noticed water in my SPG. I already contacted the shop but I thought I would get your opinions on how this happens...

That is kind of what I figured.... Seeing as how I have only had this about 2 months, and used it on one dive, I am pretty sure that HOG will replace it...
Any idea how this happens??? Just a bad seal somewhere I guess.... Phil

Wow...that's pretty ugly. And if Dive_Rong's assessment is correct, you need to dry out your first stage, or maybe even have it serviced (I flooded my first stage in the rinse tank, so I speak from experience here).

Well I went out there this morning and took a look at it and the water is all gone... I took all three hoses off the 1st stage and hooked it up to a tank and blew some air through it for a minute, and did not notice any water coming out of the 1st stage...
When I got back from diving I just dunked my reg in the water, unpressurized, but the only thing in the water was the 2nd stage and the SPG... I did not even put the 1st stage in. This is how I normally rinse out my second stage if I am diving in relativly clean water. If I really want to get muck out I hook it up to a tank and hit it with a hose... I think that I may try again tonight when I get home and just see if the SPG happens to get more water it in... I wish I would have taken a look at it before I rinsed it off... I have a wireless air integraged computer on my wrist so I only glanced at the SPG once on the two dives just to make sure that both posts were reading the same pressure... So I have no idea if it was like this on the dives or not... Phil

In fresh water you can sometimes save them if you dry them out with high heat, heat like you'd see in the Summer on the dash of your car. In the Winter I think it's probably toast. Summer is risky and I'm not sure I'd trust it as a primary. As a backup it might be just the ticket.
Here's another way it can happen, if you do a valve drill and breathe down your regs, and your just plain unlucky you could get water into it via a loose O ring when you lose the pressure.
