Exclamation old dive rite wreck canister with lead battery want NMHI

hey all i have a 10 watt HID wreck canister light does anyone know if i can just switch to a NMHI or LIon battery instead for lighter and better use or do i have to have it rewired

Keep the voltages the same and you should not have any trouble.

The light itseld really doesn't care what type of battery you have. Keep in mind that NiMH and LIon are usually smaller so you will most likely have room to spare in the cannister. The nice thing is you can really get some amps of storage depending on you new battery system. Keeping the voltage the same is the key! make sure that they are rigged together correctly.

One other tid-bit/ Make sure to get the right charger. Li-Ion, NiMH, NiCd and lead acid all take different chargers. Use the wrong one - smoke the battery.

I believe that the ballast that diverite uses takes a range of voltages. If you send an email to ken@diverite.com I'm sure he can give you some specifics.
