skip breathing... regulator adjusted too tight usually...
when is the last time it was serviced? wait, question - does it shut off your air briefly when it makes the sound?

The only time mine has ever done that sort of thing is when I'm testing it OUT of the water. I was told that is normal, and it has never happened to me while in the water. Are you int he water or out?

If it's you regulator, the thump-thump-thump is your regulator saying "Take me in for service...Now!"
It could be a weak spring, a failing o-ring or a problem with the tension on a downstream valve. Also could be an unblanced first-second stage setup. May be a need to adjust a piston If you need a second opinion: Get it serviced. |
