Yes. I use christolube but scilicon grease will work in a pinch. That connection is not water tight nd those o-rings are dynamic, so I lube the threads of the connection, the spool, and both o-rings fairly heavily.

christolube can be found in local dive shops normally, or, id try googling. ST can probably special order.
i always put a little lube (either silicon or cristolube) on the threads and oring hooking to first stage, and you want them tight but dont overtighten them. once it gets snug give it a nice lil "push" and youll be good.. make sure you power it up with some air and spray for bubbles! |

I wouldn't bother with the christo lube unless you are running very high O2 deco bottles. Just plain ole' o-ring lube will do you: http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detai...ODUCT_ID=Olube
And for anyone who is not familiar with the o-rings he's talking about, here is an article I wrote about it: http://www.scubatoys.com/store/joelarry/hpspool.asp And no, on the hose to 1st stage end... not really necessary as they are not dynamic... they just sit there. |

Even more basically, where exactly are the o-rings I need to be prepared to replace? My guess is there is a ring on all hose attachment points, and I know I've seen a lot of discussion of the tank o-ring, but I'm not really sure where that one is. Is it on the first stage or on the tank valve? Others?
Thanks! |
