100 Ways for a Rig Diver to die -- Re-post from Spearboard

I read possibly the best thread on diving saftey, spear fishing safety and Hell Diving that I've ever read. I swear I went through this 100+post thread last night and couldn't put it down like a good book. I spent almost an hour reading all of these posts.

I know it's just a reference to another site & thread but this is definitely something every person should read before loading a spear gun in anger.

Yeah, it's long, but it's a good collection of thoughts.

Not sure if you ever read Humberto Fontova's Hell Divers Rodeo, but this stuff is in a similar vein.

What strikes me is that this guy does HARD CORE DIVING!! Much more so than I endeavour to do for a while and he does it with what seems like garage sale gear! No offence to Mr. Rossignol, but patching gear with glue and using what looks like an old decomptometer goes against the grain of nearly all that I read on these boards. But hey, he's still alive and spearing so there's the proof.

Cheers

you mean let the fish drag you around for an hour, run out of air, ascend to the top and grab another tank and go down and do your deco stops is not how you do it?

I know Louis and several of the Hell Divers. Although I have never been a competative spearo I have speared at most of the rigs mentioned by him. It is good advise for any new rig spearos.
