Mini season

I will be hitting up my spot for lobster mini season at midnight this year, just like last. Anyone else in South Fl. doing the same? [img]smileys/smiley16.gif[/img]

I have lived in FL for 3 years now, each year I promise I will go lobstering during mini-season. So far I have not made it during either season.

<DIV>The last two years I have been down in Lauderdale by the Sea on the opening day of mini season. I wake up in the AM and see nothing but dive flags up and down the beach. It hurts... I was busy working while others are getting all of my bugs...</DIV>

<DIV>I live near Tampa Bay, not much chance of me getting any bugs out of the gulf. I keep an eye for them, but they are rare around here.</DIV>

I do a night dive and am in the water right before midnight on the opening night/morning of mini season. Go home catch a nap and go back first thing in the morning (just after sunrise). I usually shore dive off Hollywood Beach. Too hectic for me to be out on a boat with all the maniacs out for mini-season.

I'll be in New Smyrna Beach 8/4 to 8/11, is that mini season?? If so I hope to go out with Sea Dog Divers to get some dinner!!

I'm pretty sure regular season starts 8/6 though so you can atleast get in on the start of regular season

Yep, regular season starts Aug. 6th and runs until March 31
