Personal Goals set in 2009

Well, I wanted to pat myself on the back. So, what better place than here? What better time than now?

Goals accomplished / set in 2009.

#1 - Early this year I shot 2 Black Groupers (FL Limit) on one dive. The first was 24 lbs and I was very happy to have it. I decided to call the dive early and head up. At 30' above the bottom, I look down and see a bigger one. I drop down and string up a 32 lb Black Grouper. This is a new personal best for me.

I think to myself; It will take years for me to beat a 32 lb fish.

#2 - Roughly one month later I land a 45 lb black. Wow, now I am truely screwed. I will never beat that in a million years.

#3 - I just finished lifetime dive #501 on Saturday. 500 dives is a goal that I have been chasing for the last year.

I started SCUBA in 2004 and have been averaging 80+ dives per year.
2004 95
2005 73
2006 81
2007 87
2008 104
2009 61 (Jan-Aug)

Congrats on meeting your personal dive goals!

I haven't met mine yet, but I've gotten most of them and I still have months to go.

Congratulations. Those are some monster fish. I really want to set some goals to get a set number of dives out of the way and also to make my way down to florida to learn how to spearfish.

It takes less than a week to eat a fish that size. I hate to freeze fish. If I wanted to eat frozen fish, I would just buy it at the store. So, I split it up between my friends. We all got to eat fresh fish that week.

Note: If I am at you home and you offer to thaw out that piece of fish that I gave you six months ago, you get dropped off of my fresh fish call list.

That's horrible! How could someone let fresh fish go in the freezer like that? Might as well go buy it from the freezer isle at Wallyworld.
