I don't really care for lobster but have heard that MAine has some really good ones. Finflippers has done some lobstering in the Keys and West Palm.

Get on the dive boats going out of Long Island otherwise Conn. is your best bet (Unless u own property/citizen of the state u cannot get lobstering permit in Mass.)

In Western New York? No... lobster hunting usually happens near an ocean. Maybe I didn't understand the question.

Though I didn't get the joke, I am assuming that you are trying to be funny. Western NY is bordered by Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. These are both fresh water lakes. You may find some crawfish. But, the only lobsters that you will see will be in the restaurants. As for Michigan it is bordered by Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and lake Erie. Again these are all fresh water lakes.

Now if you wanted to go out into the Atlantic Ocean from Eastern NY your odds would greatly improve.

Happy Hunting.

while there may be lobster in the atlantic up there, i prefer the ones down here in florida. First of all, the water is a hell of alot warmer, second the spiny lobster doesnt have claws. Ive heard some horror stories from some of my customers that hunt lobster in the UK, me and claws dont mix (unless i get them at a restaraunt, in which case they are delicious).
