funny that you bring up eating while diving. i was thinking that it might be nice to have a reg with a built-in water tube in case your mouth gets dry - just like the little hose at the dentist. probably not the most practical thing, but you know you've gotten thirsty at least once while diving

Gummi candy works well. Hot dogs (sans bun!) and Slim Jims are good. String cheese holds up, too. Use your imagination!

<DIV>Actually it exists... called a SCUDA (self contained underwater drinking apparatus) Has a vinyl bag you put your fluid in, then some thin tubing that goes down to a mouthpiece with a hole to fit the tube. You open a little valve, squeeze the bag, and bingo!</DIV>

jolly ranchers- prevents dry mouth during a dive.Just make sure you rinse your reg well afterwards!
