Caribbean value package with dive computer 399.00 is a killer deal the computer alone is going for over 200.00 at most places.

Anybody looking for a good starter package this is the one to get, and I checked all over the net.

You made a good choice by buying from ST seeing as how you get your gear backed up with a warranty.

We almost got that package too. You'll have to let us know how you like it! School's almost out so hopefully you'll be getting some diving in soon.

I am allready out of school actually ha but yeah I hope to go the keys this summer to dive.

The bc was the only thing I was sort of worried about. I did find a review on scubadiving.com that said it was a great entry level bc and so far they are right.

Any good local dives you would suggest in the tampa bay area?

*Sigh* I need to move to the coast. I wish I could pick up and go diving any time I wanted, even if it were just a beach dive.

In fact, I think I'll marry a lady scuba diver and move to Florida. I'm not sweating hurricanes too much. I survived Katrina!! lol (that is a joke, I survived Katrina because I got the heck out of here!)

Well we just got OW certified about 4 weeks ago and then I promptly broke my foot, so we haven't gotten around much yet. My fiancee found a nice site that reviews different dive locations in various parts of Florida here- Scuba diving sites and GPS destinations: Wrecks, Coral Reefs, Reviews, Trip Charters. - Dive Spots

Otherwise, if you want fresh water or cavern type dives, another person suggested the following places: Rainbow River, Crystal River, Devil's Den, Blue Grotto, Ginnie Springs, Paradise Springs, Forty Fathom Grotto (low vis), Hudson Grotto (low vis), Buford, and Eagle's Nest.

We got our cert at Rainbow River and it's decent. Only so much to see though.

Eh, just go up further North in Florida and I'm sure you'll be fine. Heck, even in Tampa, I live far enough North that I'm no longer in any the evacuation regions. Then it's only a 6 hour drive to most of the other popular dive sites!

Thanks, I was actually at Ginnie Springs on saturday, from what I have been told its one of the better springs in the area. About a 2 hour drive north of tampa. Worth a check when you can go.
