To Sydney

Ladies and Gentlemen, another toast, please. I have a new granddaughter, Sydney, born 10:38pm on Feb 2. 7lb 3 oz. She is welcomed into the world by her parents, Jennifer and Corey, and a wide assortment of in-laws and out-laws, including her grandparents, Charlene and I.

She was most especially welcomed into the world by her Grandmother Charlene, who had the honour of performing the actual delivery. Charlene, Jennifer's mother, is a nurse and was in the Labour and Delivery Room to coach/offer support. The doctor offered her a chance to get a "little" more involved and she jumped at it.

(For those of you keeping score, yes this is the second grandchild announcement I have made in a couple of weeks. Sydney's cousin, Mia, was born Jan 21st.)
