Good men are real

Thanks to the men in my life who remind me what good men look like and how they treat women.

Sometimes that role model can be our fathers, but mine has been gone for 20 years now. Sending much much love up to you today Dad.

Sometimes that role model can be a friend or family member, who shows us how women should be treated in the way that they treat us, their spouses, their sisters, their mothers.

I just received a dozen beautiful roses from Goober, my brother. Being so very single at the moment, I was not expecting to see any flowers today unless I bought them for myself. And I have received two Valentine's calls from my two best male friends, who are happily married.

I'm glad I know what good men look like. That way I will recognize the good ones when they are in front of me in my romantic life.

Thoughtfulness is always a nice attribute but one of which I don't measure the quality of a relationship. For me a good person has one main criteria... loyalty. I can forgive and excuse just about anything else. If they are there for me when the chips are down and won't ditch me when something is inconvenient for them, that is a good person, a good friend and a solid foundation for a SO in my book.

A good man is a good friend that sees all your bad traits and loves you anyway because he knows more than just your bad traits. I found mine!!! I married my best friend.
