Exclamation Scuba Toys Anonymous...

Hello,
My name is Devildiver and I am an addict.
It started when I stopped by the Scuba Toys shop just to look around. The place was huge, they had everything! I thought I would "Just pick up a couple of clips" not to much. What a selection....oh, did they price this right? Great deal!
A few days later I thought I would go back "Just to look around". Maybe I need a sticker for my truck? Wow, can the price on the Reg be right. OK, could not pass that deal up!
It seems I started finding excuses to stop in to see what was going on. Should I feel bad about this? Should I tell the shop where I got my certification at? I wasn't doing anything wrong! They had great deals on everything and they have huge selection!
I really needed a new wet suit for a trip a had coming up. I found myself at ST again. The guys were actually helping me and answering my questions. OK, OK, I got the suit and those cool Apollo Bio fins that other place did not carry....
Did you know they even had a Zeagle BC that was made just for them! Well I had to have that to. What? I deserve it....right? Well it did not stop there I go for the cool reg I wanted and I should get that great Aeris AI computer too.
Now I find myself at Scuba Toys saying "I just need some O-rings, just in case" or " Hey guys, Who's going out to the lake this weekend?" or "When is that new camera coming out? What, I know I have one but that one is cool".

I wanted to share my story with anyone who might be fighting the same battle. Just to let you know you are not alone.
Together we can get through this!

Yeah, I'm waiting to hear about ScubaToys actually pushing some kinda additive in their gear/air to keep us hooked.

I mean, it can't be better prices and nicers deals... surely the competition would have figured that one out right?

I too, am an addict, I cannot seem to leave there without spending some of that green stuff......is there any hope?
There is just something about the smell of NEW stuff that appeals to the senses- that's it! The smell of new is the cause of our addiction!

I try to stay away unless I really "need" something. One of my last trips for for my AOW class & some how I ended up with a new nitrox computer and signed up for Nitrox class. It was weird how that happened.

I think they have sublimittal music working some where.

I'm starting to think it's probably a good idea we live 4 1/2 hours away from ScubaToys. It's bad enough we order and get it the next day. To have the shop accessible to us on a daily basis might be a very, very bad thing.

Remember, admitting you have a problem is half the battle. We are not here to judge, we are here to listen...

Have you checked out the specials today? I think they update them around noon!!

It's in the air-conditioning system. Those of you who visit know what I'm talking about. You walk in and inhale...neoprene! The sight of all that new, colorful, gear glistening in the under the lights. The sounds of that friendly voice behind you asking , "May I help you?". You can almost taste it. Then, there's that smell. You're quickly transported to the memory of your last dive and the excitement as you suited-up, preparing to dive. The intensity returns. Your pulse races. Your pupils widen.

YOU...MUST...BUY...NOW

Great customer service. Excellent prices. Extensive selection. What's not to love?
