So which did you end up deciding on PADI or NAUI?

PADI because the NAUI people said I can't dive with asthma, even though DAN approved me. They can bite me

except last night when I found one NAUI instructor who likes PADI, as long as my actual instructor is good. This I agree with, I had some help here on the forums when choosing so I should be fine

For myself, the agency doesn't matter. I'm OW PADI trained and SSI certified. (Confused? :P) I'm doing my AOW through PADI. My deep air/adv nitrox will be through IANTD and so will Cavern/Intro to Cave. Why the differet ones? My instructor is certified for all of them.

I've never heard of asthma stopping people from rec diving. I know no one (at least from what I've heard/seen) will train anyone with asthma for tech diving. I'll call my instructor and see what she says about it.

I think the quality of the instructor is the key element, not the agency. Have fun.
