divers vs climbers

I read a post on another site that was from a new diver who also was a mountain climber. He had asked for some advice on diving and was happy about how friendly divers were and stated that the high land people were a little less friendly. I have to say we are a friendly lot. I told him it was the thin air that got to the others. Any one have any other ideas?

I used to climb a fair bit, and I definitely do remember some climbs I did where people were rude about you climbing a specific route, since there is a fairly limited amount of land to climb on. The ocean, well it's pretty big, people can share it and aren't angry when new people come along, in fact you encourage them to dive with you so you have more buddies.

Rock climbers are mistaken as Park Rangers. Scuba divers marine biologists. The not so friendly rock climbers as mentioned above turn every ten minutes to yell, "Stop following ME" or "RICOLA."

Did you rappel? I know there is a cliff in Lake George, NY where the cliff goes to the water. Considered rappelling to the water and then going by scuba, then getting out on the shore. sure would be an interesting dive story.

no lol the outflow of the devils ear in the gennie springs system is so extreme that you absolutely have to pull yourself down or you will be corked to the surface or will hit a log on your way up lol its pretty intense

The down with gear wouldn't be a problem...unless your gear wasn't secured well. Wouldn't be any worse than rappelling out of a chinook with all my gear. The back up would be the pain when you're done and tired. We won't go into the no strenuous activty just after diving.

We don't got no stinkin' batches....

But my wife has a horse...very interesting parallels between her riding and my diving. Now if she could just teach the horse to dive....
