I just checked the prices. as good as they may be, I could never justify the cost for my current level of diving. Hell, the 12w Rebel led is more than my BC!
I really appreciate the clue-in on Salvo though, I hadn't heard of them before now.
Can light prices seem absurd until you actually use one. Then you buy a small one. Then you start lusting after a bigger one. Then you sell your small one to fund the bigger one, and suddenly you have the very $1k flashlight you used to scoff at, and realize that someone would have to pry it from your cold dead hands to take it away...

$1k light? (I should confess, I have serious compensation issues when it comes to lights... but all my buddies have light envy when they dive with me!!)

Not in the realm of $1k lights, but we were very happy with the OMS Ultra Bright Head Lamp, Dive Lights, OMS, OMS Ultra Bright Head Lamp that we got. They do strap quite nicely onto your arm and head and have a nice bright beam. We didn't stay down long enough on our deep dive to wear out the batteries but I am very happy with ours.

For lights under $100 I was also considering the OMS on the hand. I figure if the tech and DIR guys prefer to use the Goodman handle to free up a hand; a reacreational diver can also benefit from this as well. Secondhand, I have heard that this light is very bright and can serve as a primary for the occasional vacation night dives.

Darthwader,

Have you ever decided on a light?
