Is there an LED light that can match a Light Canon?

I have a UK Light Canon and I am wondering if there is an LED light (other than maybe a canister) than can match the light output of the UK Light Canon with a similar beam spread. While very powerful, and true to color, the HID bulbs are just not as reliable as the LEDs. I am looking for options. Thanks.

sure is... DiveRite has one now... it's a 3 LED 500 lumen light...

and the exact same thing except self contained, no canister:

I saw that light in one of the scuba magazines this week but I wasn't aware that it was that bright. I like the idea that it can go from handheld to canister. Printed specs don't alway tell the whole story though. I know this just came out, but I wonder if anyone has had a chance to compare them side by side yet.

There are a few of them out there and some even brighter. Here is another link:

Here's 1 by Salvo .

If you read everthing in this thread, I think you'll see that the Oxycheq Raider I light is very comparable to the light from a light cannon. And they are coming out with a mount that will allow it to be used hands free. It basically will mount to the top of the hand similar to a can light, but without the cord.

The OxyCheq lights are very good, and very handy, but with the current lineup (can't speak to the unreleased ones), they're being a little over-optimistic comparing the Raider I lights to a 10w HID. The focal spot is comparable, but the 10w HID is still putting out WAY more overall light.

There ARE led lights out there that can compete quite nicely with a 10w HID, but from what I've seen, there is nothing that is actually in the same price range as the light canon that can compete. (currently) Prices will come down eventually, but the sweet LED can lights that hold their own against 10w HID lights are, at this point, still a LOT more expensive than the light cannon. They're priced in can light territory.

I own the LED 500 and before that the LED 300, i also have the optional cannister, the LED 500 is rated at 500 lumens, its significantly brighter thnn the LED 300 and my Solus back up. I like it. I wouldnt bother with the cannister part tho, it does make the torch smaller and you can mount it Goodman style if you want, but for the additional cost I find it a bit gimmicky, its like you can pretend you have a real cannister light even tho you dont, a cannister is such due to the battery requirements and this is not the case with the LED 500, that aside I like it, its very bright, small enough in its standard form to be easily used and the battery life, 8AAs, is significant its reported to be 12 hours at full power with up to 30 hours of usable, I cant confirm that but I have had more than 8 hours with no sign of dimming. The LEDs 300/500 have been around for a couple of years or more, I have never heard of any problems with the standard LED configuration. Id recommend one, nice price too.

I've seen the Raider in use... it's about a 200 lumen light - it's not all that bright - it is focused and does not spread out much at all, but does have a nice white hot spot in the middle - it is almost identical to my work light which is a 225 lumen Cree emitter... it is not comparable to a light cannon (got to use one this past weekend)

The last thing I want to do is have a Deco Stop, light meter, car salesman analysis, scientific debate over how close or not close the beams are. I based my comments on looking at the video. To me (and I'm only speaking for myself) the beams look comparable in the video. The OP of this thread was looking for options. I think this is a viable option.
