UK Q40 and using a "camera mounting adapter"

So this may be a really silly question (and maybe this belongs in the photo gear forum), but I thought I'd ask it anyway.

In the description of the UK Q40 (small eLed light) it says that it can fit a variety of "camera mounting adapters". Could anyone explain to me what that means exactly, i.e. how I could mount it to the camera?

I guess I'm not really clear on what the camera mounting adapter is or how the light would attach to it (although I guess the latter may become more clear if I knew what the former was). Thanks so much in advance, cheers.

What most people do is just take a few zip ties, and attach them to the strobe to act as a modeling light. There are some fancy little clips that do the same thing that a lot of manufacturers make.. but zip ties are fast, easy, secure and cheap!

I think you're referring to parts like these:

Ultralight Control Systems - Accessories

Which are used to attach mini Q40s or other lights to a camera's tray system. Generally part of a more extensive setup with strobes, etc.

Thanks CompuDude, now I know what a camera mounting adapter looks like. Much appreciated, that was really bugging me, I just couldn't picture it. As you can tell, I'm quite new to the underwater photography scene. Thanks again
