Princeton Tec's Warranty rules!

I sent in a Surge that the switch came off in my hands when I was testing it out....so I sent it UPS to them to fix......within one week of my sending it I'm holding a brand new Torrent light thanks to them! Gotta love their lifetime, no hassle warranty....

I agree their replacement policy is great. The bad news is that you'll probably have to use it. I've had several dive lights in the $30 to $50 range. Most of them are now just flashlights. I think the best all around light for the money is the Oxycheq Raider 1 light. Just about $60 after the 10% rebate, and brighter than my Salvo Rat Light. But both lights have double O-ring seals, and have never failed.

I confess to being a light junkie, and so far these 2 have been the best lights I've ever had for a handheld.

My experience has been the same. Great warranty support, but you need it far too often. I seldom recommend PT as a result. For those who really want plastic consumer-grade lights, I think UK is a better, more reliable, option.

I will have to say I've had several Princeton Tec lights to break.

5 total.

I sent them all back and got replacements w/o hassle.

Here is the interesting fact. I sent them back w/o batteries (to save on postage) and got them all back with batteris in them. so that made up for the breakage.

I think their quality must be getting better because I haven't had one break in 2-3 years now... **knock-on-wood**

Hope that's true. I have 2 and so far they have worked flawlessly. Almost 2 years old on one and a year and a half on the other.

I just got a DOA eco flare tank light, shipped from ScubaToys. Tracked it down to the reflector assembly and gave them a call. They are shipping me a new one, the call took about 3 minutes.

Good that they are replacing, but frustrating that it arrived dead.

Well, just sent off my Shockwave II to them, went to San Marcos this past weekend and went to test it out in case I needed it- switch went bye bye.
Knowing them, within a week I'll have a replacement. Good lights but they just need better/thicker switch assemblies.
