Anyone use the NiteRider Blackwater 3000 (or any NiteRider light)?
I think I have decided on the NiteRider Blackwater 3000 for my primary light for the following reasons:
1: Bright 32 watts (original bulbs) @ 6000deg K (near sunlight temp) Going to get a 20 watt bulb and a 35 watt bulb for 55 watts. 2: Can be used up to 25 Watts on land without overheating. 3: Can be mounted as a Headlamp or a Goodman 4: Replacement lamps are cheap - 19.99 (up to 35 watts lamps) 5: Relatively long battery life (rechargeable) 6: Can be mounted on an Ikelite housing for my camera My question to you: Anyone deal with the company? How is the customer service/Warranty? I have e-mailed them questions and they have responded quickly, but I want to know if that will continue after the sale. Thanks in advance

I have used NiteRider lights for Mountain Biking, and I have contacted them for a warranty claim (although it was about 6 years ago- sorry).
My experience was a GREAT one. They sent me a brand new (updated model) unit for 1/2 of the retail price. They discussed other options with me as well, and they were very kind. Hopefully "Josh" still works there, as he was the guy that helped me out and he was very cool. Good luck on your decision... Sounds like they are still making bada$$ lights these days... |

I have a buddy who swears by them. He's really into video, and has a High Def setup with nightrider lights. Plus he uses Blackwater 3000 for his regular dives. I personally have never used 1, but he's one of those 200 + dives per year divers, so he really puts them through a workout.

I use a battery operated unit Niterider unit which also doubles as a hand held torch if you get the attachments. I use it via a Dive Helmet with the remote cannister connected into my tank belt and it is really comfortable and very secure I have had the unit for about three years now and done over 100 night dives on it while prawning in the Swan river. I have also taken it overseas as it is light weight (batteries can be purchased there)with the soft head piece you get standard with the unit and been down to 40 metres with it. I really recommend the service its nearly as good as Larry and Joe. It is not as bright as the blckwater but the duel lamps are very good and are remote switchable under water from single to double.
Cheers Kraks

I've got the 14w Pro Diver with the headband and think it's a great light, I haven't had any problems with mine to need customer service but love the hands free headband.

My first can light was a Nite Rider 10W HID. It was convenient because the clip attachment on the battery allows it to be put on non-harness BCs, but at the same time, the battery comes off easily, too.
I've had a few issues with the light, and customer service from Nite Rider has been superb. The beam on the light isn't as well focused as the 10W Salvo, Halcyon or Dive Rite lights, though. |
