I've got both the SL4 and C4 eLEDs and the C4 is a bit brighter. That being said, the eLED SL4 is very bright as well and is a great torch. I don't think you could go wrong with either. I've also used the new Oxycheq 3W backup light and my C4 is brighter in my opinion. All of them are great options at good price points, so I haven't felt the need to go to a pricier light, I haven't found the need for it in terms of the diving I do.

I've got a X4 eLED and it works great. It's very bright even in low-vis water.

thanks for the heads up on the sl4/6 upgrade would make a great back light, was just about to place a dx order as well.
with the c4 am looking to upgrade it to a triple cree led like the princton tech lights, might see what the guys on candlepower forums can come up with.
any ideas what led they use in the c4 and the c4plus?
