![]() Btw, I don't know that I would say the Intova Compact "blows the Dorcy out of the water". There is a slight difference, not a major one. I do prefer the light pattern of the Intova... slightly. There is no free lunch, though: The battery life of the Intova Compact (3x AAA) is half of the Dorcy (6x AAA). (Although you can extend the Intova to comparable levels using the low power mode which the Dorcy lacks). Still more than enough for most recreational dives, of course. |

I was referring to this:
Dorcy vs. Intova I could have sworn my Dorcy was a lot brighter than that, but then again that's at 70' away. I'll wait and see when the Dorcy II comes out try and decide then. Intova does seem like a heck of a deal though. |

I loaned my Intova Compact out last week, and am supposed to get it back tonight. Last week (just before loaning it out) I compared them against the side of a truck from the other side of the street, and thought the light output levels were a lot more similar than those photos would seem to indicate. Slight difference in quality, corona, etc... one had a bit more spill/corona, one had a bit stronger hotspot. Once I have both in my possession again, I'll see about taking some shots. I may even try a night dive to take a UW photo or two, if conditions lend themselves. |
