UK Aqua Sun eLED vs PT Shockwave LED
Gday all
Tossing up between the UK AquaSun eLED and the Shockwave LED UK +/- 1) Rechargeable battery pack 2) Apparently VERY bright 3) Expensive PT +/- 1) Good value (especially in the packs) 2) 8 batteries! (pass me the rechargeables) 3) Fragile switches? Hence, has anyone actually compared the two? Can you get a single battery pack for the PT? Also have seen reviews which indicate fragile switches that break early on... Cheers |

I have a PT shockwave led and it's a nice light. I have had it for a couple years and I did break the switch once. Sent it to PT and they fixed if for free and had quick turn around time. My buddy bought the UK led plus, which is the equvelent of my shockwave. His has 8 c batts and two leds. The shockwave has 8 c batts and three smaller leds. The PT is a hair smaller than the UK. The switch is delicate but not too bad. Mine broke in my dive bag somehow. I don't have clue what happend, it was just broke when I went to use it. Either one is a good choice IMO. I actually use a UK light cannon most of the time. It has a more focused beam. The LEDS have lots of light but it's more widespread in a closer area.

Interesting, at what point do you find that the light from the PT Shockwave LED isnt enough and you need the light canon, or is it simply the focused beam that really makes the difference?
Also what about rechargeable packs for the PT LED, similar to the aquasun? Cheers |
