Dive Rite LED 500

Just got my new DiveRite LED 500 kit in the mail today. Scuba Toys matched an already great price and it was here in two days. I haven't used it yet (arrived today) but quality looks great and I like the ability to switch from flashlight to cannister light.

I received my package and it is sweet. My only complaint was it did not have any instructions or documentation. A quick trip to the dive rite website fixed that!

I plan to dive this weekend and check it out. For the money, this seems to be a great package. I really like the fact I can use it as a standard light or canister light.

You lucky manwoman, not sure around here these days.
I have been looking at the 500, but I think that I will buy the 1000. Of cource by the time that happens, wife holds the purse strings, something better will have come out.
Oh, I have light envy.

The light worked great. I am very happy except for the goodman hand mount. It is the style with a aluminum frame. I found it pinched my 7mm gloves when trying to get it on. I have it adjusted all the way out.

Are there any other options for a hand mount? I looked at the Dive Rite website and ST. Any ideas?

Most people prefer the metal Goodman handle. There enough companies that are making elastic ones that you should be able to find one that will fit your light.
Good luck.

Why is the metal handle preferable? I found it tight over my 7mm gloves, without the gloves it was perfect.

Dive rite makes a depth-compensating elastic hand mount that more people seem to prefer esp with the smaller light heads (like yours!) Enjoy your new light! Im hoping to pick up a couple for back ups
