small LED light ?

Hi All
iv done some searching but still not found what im after,

im looking for a small , Led , AA batt, light with a on off switch ( NOT a screw on switch , i dont trust em)

to attach to my BC shoulder clip , just for night dives while taking photos. to allow me to see strobe and camera settings .

i already have a fisheye fix 48led that i use as a focus /spotting light , so all i want is a small reliable light to see my camera buttons at night

any suggestions
Matty

Checkout the ikelite PCm lite. LED and uses 4 AA batts with on/off switch.

Any reason for not trusting screw on switch lights? back to your question, you could look at th new Intova compact, push button but runs on AAAs.

Seconded... I trust screw on more than switches.

But the new Intova looks great... not that it's available anywhere since the initial batch sold out.

From website: "Stop replacing bulbs.
We've selected the highest quality white LEDs for maximum brightness and durability. Highly efficient drivers yield an LED lifespan of 50 - 100 times the life of standard incandescent lamps, making replacement bulbs virtually obsolete..."

Hi
Thanks for the replys folks

my reason for not trusting screw head torches is ,i have flooded a number of them, i was using the super sabrelight , and just got sick of replacing the batteries and light head after a flood.

AAA bat is an option i guess, but i use AA batts with my camera and have plenty of spare ,

ok then,,, what is the most reliable AA Batt LED small screw head torch.

Thanks

Matty

The problem isn't the screw switch design, the problem is the Pelican Sabre Light. It's just a terrible design that floods far too easily. I flooded 5 of them before I got tired of sending them to Pelican for replacement, and believe me, I was super careful after the first couple of floods. Now my Sabrelight does a great job as an emergency light on my nightstand by my bed at home. It doesn't go into the water anymore.

A well-designed* screw-on light is less likely to fail than a switched design simply because there are fewer seals to fail. The Dorcy falls under that category... well-designed.

*a key specification

ok
this light may be over kill for what i first stated .
INON LE 250

but its made by INON and i just love their work .

it uses 3 AA bats , and is 250 lumen . it costs about $150 Aud a bit expensive i guess but im fairly confident that being a INON it would last for years
inon page
http://www.inon.co.jp/e_pdf/LE250_En.pdf
[
ive looked at some others lights including the intova and the postage to Australia is just terrible . at BH photo they quote $60 usd postage !

Regards
Matty

While that light does look nice, if you notice on the last page on the right, there is a 'Full Size' Example. It looks to be a little too large for just a shoulder mount light. I would also caution against having too much light for adjusting settings as it may cause a little temporary blindness having the light so close to your eyes and the potential for reflection from your equipment.

Wow... i guess you can have too much light :\

Check with buddhasummer... he posted about the Intova in this thread: New compact Intova 4.7

He bought his locally in NZ... at worst, I would think shipping would be a LOT cheaper. And the Intova has a 30% power setting that lets you lower the output levels if you have the issue Drewsky mentions.
