How big is your mower - how small is your yard?

So I am watching the boob tube and on comes a John Deer commercial for riding mowers. The ad shows rather large mowers and rather small lawns. So I can only summate that these guys are compensating for something.

Now as a kid I had to mow some where around a acre of grass. Even with a riding mower it still me over 2 hours to mow everything. Now I got a small lawn and get the wife to mow it .

So how big is your mower and how small is your yard?

just a standard walmart push mower

the yard is less than 1/4 acre and the house sits on half of that. takes me 1 hour including weed-eatin.

it takes that long only because i live under 200 year old oaks, so i'm always pickin up limbs!

So, tell us. How did you convince your wife to mow the yard?

I have 3 acers to mow with a commercial DixeChopper and a 52" deck. It takes every bit of 4 1/2 hours depending on how long I let it get before mowing.

I have 1.75 acres and to ride, push around the bushes, and weed eat, it takes me a good 4-5 hours.

Now my wife does like to help, but she doesn't like to drive the riding mower, so she pushes while I ride. I know the neighbors think I'm a lazy bastard.

So, it's not the size of the mower, but how you use it?
