Wink What should I wear?

I'm going to dive with Lulubelle for the first time on May 23rd if the sea gods copperate and I want to be sure to make a good first impression.

My guess is Lulu will be in her hyperstretch wetsuit and stiletto BC.

Do I go fully decked out in my technical rig- double 120s, stage, reels, can ligtht, etc? Or do I dress casually in a jacket BC and minimal accessories, or somehwere in between- perhaps a backplate and Mach V wing? If the latter, is it better to dive wet or dry?

see if you can get a brass diving helmet, those are the best! after all, you only get to make three first impressions.

Anyone know where I can get one that still works?

I think you should go minimalist. MachV wing, single tank, and a speedo.

You should dive wet in nothing but a "banana hammock". I don't know if that would leave a good or bad impression, but it would be memorable either way.

Too funny. I taught Scotttyd how to use his dry suit in exactly that get up. I forgot to bring my drysuit to the quarry. I'm glad he didn't have his camera I think it was in September Brrr. that water was cold and we stayed above the thermocline. It was funny as Hell demonstrating the skills without the suit. When I press on my chest, that means I'm hitting the inflator, etc.

- well, it wasn't exactly the set up you're talking about- I wore jammers but the jammers were Speedo brand so it was close enough. I haven't worn a "speedo" since I played water polo in college.

Tuxedo for the win. Chicks dig classy guys.

Or jeans and a motocycle jacket. Chicks dig bad boy biker guys, also.

It's a strange world...

Whatever you wear, make sure it has at least one pocket. Lulu may give you your man card back and you will need a place to hide it

Good guess since that is the only equipment I have at this point. I dive in high summer in a shorty which is a bit unusuall around here! I just can't take the 100 degree topside temps for long enough to get out of a full suit.

I'm not afraid of any speedo, I grew up with a bunch of swimmers and they wore the little bitty ones in those days. But personally, I'd vote for naked, then I can see what all of the bravado is REALLY about.

I can't issue man cards chicken, I'm a girl, at least that is my story and I'm sticking to it. I'd post the evidence, but this forum could not handle it, trust me.

Now how is he supposed to dive with a tux or motorcycle jacket on Compudude?

As for what chicks dig...I think we covered this well in another thread...classy guys, sure, bad boys, not so much anymore. Personally, I dig nice geeky guys who have some degree of social skills, some active hobbies, and plenty of testosterone.
