Gonazaga caught a wobbly Crocop after beating on him for 3 minutes on the ground. The same will not happen with Cotoure. Will Randy win? I hope so, but even with his superior wrestling, he's giving up the BJJ side of things on the ground and probably speed on their feet.
As for my favorite fighter, it's hard to say. I really like guys who'll stand there and bang, but I really appreciate the energy it takes to fight on the ground. I loved Tito Ortiz's coaching on the TUF3, but hate his mouth. I really enjoyed Jens Pulver on TUF5 and was really disappointed by BJ's dominance of him at the finale. If I had to pick a fighter who I'm pulling for more than others, I'd say Rich Franklin because he taught high school and Randy Cotoure because of his great history and forthright attitude. |

Yeah I thought his head was going to pop off. I'm worried about that fight. I still wish they would get rid of rounds, and just let them go at it until somebody wins.

Oh...just some more...I've got a hell a lot of respect for Josh Koscheck. I mean anyone who goes 41-0 in NCAA D1 wrestling deserves our respect. He showed a great game in beating Diego Sanchez's ass as well. Exciting? Naw, but for a wrestler, his stand up was phenomenal.
Brandon Vera, a San Diego boy, is a monster as well. It's too bad that he and City Boxing split. Terry Martin looks tough at 185. He also has a masters degree in psychology ....Just showing the brainy side of the sport. Anderson Silva looks soooo tough, but like Franklin (at least he better), I think there are holes in his game. He looked good on the ground against Marquartte and he definately looked good on his feet against Franklin. I think Franklin is going have to out-box Silva in the early rounds before allowing the fight to get body to body. Obviously, I'm a Franklin fan. I have a ton of respect for Silva though, but as we've learned this year, no one is unbeatable. |
