So in a couple weeks I am going to Dreams Tulum with my non-diving wife, and 3 diving kids. I hope to get some diving in without causing too much marital dis-harmony. So the other day she asks if I plan to dive ...I say yes a couple times during the week, she then is questioning how they clean the regulators at the dive shop and if I wondered if I should buy regs for my 3 kids. (Thank You Swine flu) I of course agree the cleaning won't be perfect and proceed to look for regs for my kids. I have bought used bcd's for them but still rented regs.

So today I put an order in for 4 reg sets using the Mares Voltrex with MR22 1st stage. I plan to use my current reg for a pony setup I was hoping to get.

good for your wife! the only thing worse than rental bowling shoes are rental regs- we bought our regs after our first 2 dives(watched how the rentals were"cleaned"-yucky!!

Last year, my best scuba purchase also came from my spouses suggestion. She came back from a church garage sell and told me to go check out the scuba stuff being sold. I did.......immediately....... and bought an assortment of goodies hoping some would work. To my surprise everything was in perfect working order except the tanks needing hydros which was obvious and I was just buying it for the price of the tanks and backpacks thinking the rest was junk. Wrong....everything worked fine....

I will dive once before buying my reg. "When i get cert. IF i do wait till after oct i will buy my reg before getting my cert.
