As most us guys try and impress the girls when we do something. Like lift that extra 50 pounds at the gym. Buy that nice car from the nice(hot) sales lady. Do you dive differnt around the lady divers. Like do you dive a little deeper maybe get down quick or try and out run all the other guys to the top to help the nice girl out of her gear and wetsuit towel in hand.
I remeber one friend who was acting top of his game and felt the need to jump off a 30 foot bridge. ALl in all he impressed he till he has to have the dnr come pick him up as there was no way he was climping the cliff to the top.

No, but I never have. Chalk it up to growing up in a female dominated household, but I'm often more concerned with assisting as needed/requested than demonstrating my 'manliness'.

I honestly don't think a real "lady diver" would be impressed by a guy trying to show off by diving deeper, descending faster or swimming faster - unless she likes a guy that is reckless and is a dangerous diver.

I personally dive the same around everyone - because I'm not diving for anyone else, I'm diving for myself (well... and my buddy). Just like at the gym - I'm there to work out and better myself, I couldn't care less what other people think about my lifts.

The women I know are not impressed by guys that try to show off... and the ones that are aren't the ones I want to be around anyway.

Also - most women don't want you to go too deep too fast or try to win the race.

I'm not much for flying the macho flag for the ladies, but I did feel compelled to jump off a bridge the other day. I used to jump of that same ~30' bridge all the time as a kid, and while my wife and I were taking our daughter out for a walk, we saw several teenage boys in swimsuits hemming and hawing about who would jump first, if they should jump at all.

Once we got right next to them, I turned to my wife and asked her to take the baby, then kicked off my shoes and vaulted over the rail.

After spending Tens of Thousands of $$$$$$$$ over the years on Babes, Ladies, Cuties etc etc....I've retired.....I go diving and if they want to join me.....Fine....If not I'll be diving with out them...Lost a few girlfriends with that attitude...sure easier on the wallet!

I have a wife and child. I dive for my safety. Call me a wuss all you want.

With that being said, I'll help a female or male out with anything. Just to be helpful, nit to try to impress anyone.

Act differently, no. Am I protective? Depends on skill level. If my buddy is a new diver, I may hover a little closer. If they're experienced? Let's go! The other fact is that if my buddy is female, they are going to havea better SAC than me so it's probably giong to be me that turns the dive, not them. Want to impress a female diver? Show how safe, skilled and respectful you are.

But like chicken, I'm too old to impress the gals.
