I call BS on this one. A secure woman would prefer to be fully present for that which is enjoyable to her. If she needs alcohol to enjoy something, she should probably question why she is going there at all.

This sounds like another one of those "90% of serial killers ate bread in the week before killing" statistical wonders. ie. A couple go on a date, share a bottle of wine over dinner and then go back to someone's place for coffee and ... The sharing of the wine puts her in the "drink before sex" catergory.

My wife relaxes with a glass of wine after work. That does NOT mean she needs to drink before we make love.

But you and the artical are talking about two different things. You are talking about secure vs. insecure women. The artical was talking about inhibited vs un-inhibited women.

I once knew a very sucessful, confident woman. But she would not undress where anyone could see. She would get naked in the closet and then get into bed. Maybe I'm from cow country or something, that really seemed odd to me.

Thanks for the welcome DD! But I would place secure/uninhibited and insecure/inhibited almost synonymously. When a woman exhibits the type of behavior described, drinking to give herself permission to do something, or hiding in the closet as you described, it is clear to me that she should not be doing what she is doing until she addresses these underlying issues and establishes her personal comfort level with confidence, whether that means doing or not doing something.
