...the last little while, because wedding planning eats time like nothing I've ever seen! next saturday is the date, and we're going to cozumel for the honeymoon. she just finished her OW last month. I'm incredibly excited to go diving in water that a) I can see through, and b) won't require a 7mm suit to stay warm.

You're doing it wrong!!!!!

The wedding is all about HER. You, my friend, are just the convenient excuse for her to have HER day. Ergo, the bride-to-be normally does all the planning, cake tasting, flower choosing, table arrangements, etc. YOU just show-up at the appointed place on the appointed day and at the appointed hour dressed as she dressed you, and...for gawd's sake...do not embarass her.

What all the above means, is that if she's doing all the work, then you should have been free to plan the dives and/or go diving. Hence, "because wedding planning eats time like nothing I've ever seen" should not have been the case.

As somebody who is married to Wife vers. 2.0, I can tell you that it is the things that go wrong during the ceremony and reception that you will remember and laugh about later.
