Mares Airlab Proble
Hello...I had a Mares Airlab that I really enjoyed diving with. It worked flawlessly for about a year of use. THEN...I was in Bonaire doing dives nothing exotic when the dang thing just Jammed...I don't know how else to explain it....It would turn on, but it wouldn't read any tank info, wouldn't read any depth or temp, but would let me cycle through all its menus.....I've tried a few things, I've tried pulling the batteries and letting it sit for about a week, then reinstalling them ect, which doesn't do anything, there was no watter in the unit, I tried hooking it up to my computer and downloading the memory hoping maybe that would reset something. No help.....Any ideas?

I really don't know but maybe something I know will help
. I have been diving with an AIRLAB for about 2 years now never had real problems with it but mine did keep unscrewing and falling off at one point and I got intimately familiar with some of the hose stuff. Inside one of the connect points is a ball bearing and a spring that is supposed to close off the air supply if you want to disconnect the computer but not break down the whole system. If the ball bearing is stuck it might do what you are describing. Look for it by untwisting the computer at the base. Good Luck. |
