There was a documented bull shark attack in Lake Michigan... but since that time apparently more dams have been built and they can't get that far anymore.

One more reason to avoid fresh water.

But sharks belong here. No surprise.

Sticks, on the other hand, do not belong in any body of water with humans. They seem to be prevalent in fresh water (I saw them in my one and only quarry dive).

I have been diving Lake Ponchatrain and Lake Maurepas for 50 years. The bulls have always been there, it's just more people on the lakes now so more meeting with them. As for low vis, out of sight out of mind. Don't worry about them, you are more likely to get hit by lighting than a shark while on the lakes.

Yes i'm sure it is more likely I would be hit by lightning but having a bloody fish on a spear might up the chances. I think even then the chances might be about the same as lightning.

I don't mind most sharks but bulls make me very uneasy. They can be a bit troublesome. Most of the folks getting chomped on around my neck of the woods in VA and NC are bull shark victims.

Yeah. It is the Bulls that usually concern the surfers and the Jupiter hunters.

Interesting though, in the lower Keys my friends tell me they have more problems with the Reef Sharks when they hunt.
