If you have time your friend should check out the documentary, Sharkwater, SHARKWATER. I guarantee he'll never look at sharks the same way again.

Sharks should be respected, but the fear of sharks is way overblown. Tell your friend not to worry about it and just have a blast.

I had this one about a 9' Silvertip's belly hit the top of my head.....thank god it was not hungry and the other Big fellow just pushed me outta the way....LOL

I've been hooked in at the Blue Corner in Palau with dozens of Sharks in front of me and never had one charge me....Shark diving (Not a Shark Feed) is one of the most thrilling experiences I've done!

Agreed. Sharks are great and should be respected and protected. I saw a show the other week about how sharks are being caught and used for soup. In fact the other day a couple of homeless guys tried selling a shark in Florida and dumped its carcass in the street.

Shark Week is coming to Discovery Channel in a week. Make sure to catch it!

yea my friend has seen almost every week thats why hes so scared

personally since ive started diving ive looked at sharks in a whole new perspective first I was scared of em of course lol. But after I started I just vsee them as another magnificent sea creature that shouldnt be treated any different than another sea creature

And im pretty sure all of you feel the same way lol

Notice that the most attacks are in counties with the highest beach populations and tourist.

197 attacks on divers in 200 years.
