While the sea lions and seals near La Jolla were fun, I've got to say my favorite encounter was being pinned to the bottom of Crystal River, FL by a manatee cow.
She was just eating up the rub-down with a nail brush, and (gently) laid on me for 10-15 minutes. I got to interact (touch/play) with her calf and yearling (?) as well, which made it my most memorable dive. No, I did not chase/harass them, they initiated the interactions. |
