I do not believe you will be able to positively ID #2 from this photo, there is just to much unseen for the ID. Could be a intermediate Blue though...

The challenge with Parrotfish is the drastic changes in color and markings as they mature. Not only that but they are hermaphrodites and can change sexual orientation as needed with intermediate phases between their primary phases.

If wgt is not sure on #2 I doubt I can do any better, give you something to look for on your next dive!!

Any more photos?

Hehe, yea. It indeed gives me something to look at . Well, I found a photo of someone else online, of a juvenile blue parrotfish and it looks pretty much the same as mine (ofc his ID could be wrong). Link: Picasa Web Albums - Scott & Mark. So I guess I'll go with a blue parrotfish.

And yea, I've got one more photo

imho, your #2 shot is a blue parrotfish in the Initial Phase.

Your second post is of a different type of parrotfish, my guess redband.

This is what I love about this forum. Everyone seems to get along and play nice. On some other boards, it would have ended with Devil calling WGT a hack and WGT responding that Devil couldn't identify tuna unless it came in a can. I love you guys

The link is to a Blue witch confirms one of the fish in the OP. The attached JPEG is the question. Possible Redband Parot, the tail is correct but does it seem to have a band through the eye? I am just not sure I can see enough of it to make a call.

Guess I came to the right forum then

For the ID of my 2nd post, maybe a better pic might help. It does seem to have a vague black/grey-ish band across his eye-area.
