That looks like a lot of fun. I REALLY want to do a shark dive so bad! I am thinking of going to the Bahamas and doing one out there. Diving in waters like this sure would get my heart going!

You can often find bulls just offshore along FL beaches and everywhere in the Bahamas. Those really scare me!
My understanding is that this is typical in the inlet. I can't tell what they are either, but most that I see in the water diving are sand tigers, and it is not uncommon to see blacktips closer to shore. I'm sure there are others!

I'm a lot more afraid of landsharks. I know too many.

I'm so sorry!

Now sand tigers look menacing with all them teeth... I've seen them mating and all I can say is, "I'm glad we have opposable thumbs for a much more pleasurable mating experience"

I went shark diving in December 2008 in the Bahamas and plan on going again in February 2010. My sister in law lives in NC, and I may just have to make a trip there for this. Looks totally awesome!

Nah, not nearly as viscious as the landsharks. Or sticks. Or the killer bream in our local quarry. Really, a guy got bit by one recently.

Indeed Wiz, they seem to favor certain wrecks over others. One of the most popular "shark" dives is an intact artificially sunken coast guard cutter. Last time I was on it the current was very strong and it was groovy to watch their behavior. They were down on the sand on the ?starboard? side facing into the current for the most part.

I kind of need to learn a bit more about shark ID. There are bulls and others in our waters too, and I'd like to recognize the difference!

Shark ID 101:

Step 1. If it bites you chances are it was a bull
Step 2. Try step one on your buddy before attempting to pet said shark

BTW, Starboard it's just a fancy way of saying right and port has the same number of letters as left. That's how I remember it.

Port = Left is how I remember it too. You also need to remember this is correct if you are on the boat facing the front. Doesn't work if you are off the boat looking at the bow.
