Prescription Masks

I know its probably a long shot, but does anyone know if you can put your eyeglasses insurance coverage towards the cost of getting a prescription mask??

Cause I know you can do that for sunglasses, and that would be sweet...

That is an interesting question, I'll have to ask the next time I'm at the eye doctor

Hmm, probably depends on where you get your prescription filled.

A place like prescriptiondivemasks.com that is a regular optician's office as well could probably do something like that, if it's at all possible. They'd know, one way or the other, as I doubt this is the first time this has come up.

You'll have to ask your insurances to see if that is covered at all. I know mine wasn't, but the price for my mask didn't sink my wallet though. I guess it depends on what type of mask you're getting. I know the full face mask by scubapro can be hefty and the sea vision one i got was around $200 dollars. Anyways, check with your insurance agency. They might cover it or not.

That was a good question so I called my ins. they told me one pair of lenses a year we don't care what kind as long as the provider is on the list. Thing is I 'am had on glasses so my one pair goes to glasses my mask is about four years old and still close enough to see through. I do love having prescription lenses in my mask.

you can get

you can get optical insurance for recreation glasses, I would think that dive masks come under that, especially if its equipment for health reasons........
I know household insurance/personal property covers them if they break.......

Good question, my 1st guess would be no(being an eye doctor for over 30 years, I've never had a patient request it thru their insurance).......My recommendation, call your insurance company and ask them.....good luck.....
