That's what I was thinking. I tried them for a bit in a pool during an OW class. So I didn't do any serious diving with them - but they seemed to feel just like most other pair of fins to me. The students seemed to like them enough.
I'd like to see what condition those bands are in after 50 or so dives....

Im an instructor for fullerton college and we have those fins. A donations form Aqua Lung. Those fin are not worth the money the only way to use them half way effiicent is to have them on the stiffest one and for that your better of getting the regular fins without the bands. did a mile worth of swimming and said all hell give me back my split fins.

I tried them in the pool when I was shopping for my new fins. The bands are one more thing to break in a remote location where you cannot get a part.
There were not all that fast. I wound up buying Aqualung Flex 2's.

I've got a pair and they are pretty good. I went diving with them 2 weeks ago and didn't have a problem with them. Not fast, yet they don't put as much strain on my legs like my old Blades 2. I didn't get a chance to try and "shift gears", but I will next time. Overall not a bad fin (I give them a 4 on a scale of 1-10). By the way if you do and decide to get them, the bands are replaceable.
