Restoring Power fins?

Howdy!
When my dad was originally certified (70's) He had a set of Venturi Power FIns. However after a while of diving, He put them up for a long time. Flash forward to august 2007, We go on a cruise, get hooked on diving, get certified, get gear and are planning a nekton trip in june!(hopefully). So anyway, I found his old fins, took a cloth to em, and they clean up real nice, so , I was wondering, is there anything special I need to do to them? My plan now i soaking them, wiping them, and silicone spraying them. They also need new straps, so I was planning on getting some OMS spring straps.

go very easy with them for the first couple times of re-use.....im not familiar with these fins, but at 30 years old, i would be worries about the fins becoming brittle. Just go easy on them, and you should be ok.

New straps make sense if the fins are good, but I don't think there's a need to do anything to the body of the fins. If the material is old and rotting or whatever there's nothing to do about it. And if it's good there's nothing to do either. I don't think a spray with silicone will do anything other than make them slippery. Think of old beat fins as a badge of honor.

I would bend them and look for checking or cracks. I had 2 pairs of rocket fins. On one the rail cracked while I has walking into the water. They are about 20 year old rubber. I just replaced the straps on the others.
