Clear or Black Skirt on Masks

Do your prefer a clear or a black skirt on your mask. I have a clear skirt on my H2O frameless, and I have never considered anything else. I think that it lets more light in and I'm definitely underwater to get the best view of everything I can. I just though I would ask what everyone else prefers.

I prefer black. I had a clear skirt on my first mask. Didn't care for the side glare.

I really prefer black since switching from clear skirted masks years back. See if you can try one of each and make up your onw mind....that is what scuba gear selection is about....have fun and enjoy!

Black skirt.

Clear skirts yellow and look terrible as they age.

In a black skirted mask, no one can see the ... jellyfish ... in your mask's nose pocket when you surface.

In a black skirted mask, you don't get reflections off the glass from ambient light.

Black skirt is better for photography for some of the same reasons.

I have an aqualung mask that is a few years old and while it still works the clear rubber has started to yellow. I think I am going to buy the new atomic ultraclear frame less mask, with the black skirt, and see how it goes. I have heard a lot of great reviews on it and it seems to fit my face very well.

I prefer Black for Quality, and clear for Low light situations. 95% of the time i dive with Black.....it seems to last longer, and doesnt become discolored.

Black is definitely the way to go for me. Of those that Comp listed reflection is the big issue for me and I can't stand the glare.
