I like my Big Eyes, but the mask seems to slide up my face and rub and put pressure on the bottom of my nose as the dive progresses. A friend of mine has one and his leaks on him, so he does not use it anymore.

Have considered buying the demon mask and would like to also hear what people have to say about them.

The Demon gives a great view... But it has to fit you! The best thing would be for you to try one on (of both). You'll know which you prefer and which suits you best...

Cheers!

I know we are supposed to try before buy, but I'm pretty much sold on the Demon myself! From different internet reviews, people seem to have less leakage problems with the Demon vs Big Eyes, although there is a BIG price difference approx $65 vs $27. (worth noting: There is also a thread about choosing a dark skirt for low-vis over a clear skirt)

I have the "big eyes". I like mine and I'd still be using it if not for one thing, It doesn't fit. The most importent thing about a mask is "fit". Nothing else matters as much. Even if 1,000 people here say it's great it means nothing it that mask don't fit your head. My face is to wide for that mask. Fit's my son just fine so I llet him use it. Some faces may be to narrow for the Big Eyes mask. You just have to try it.

But the mask has held up for years and it uses conventional construction so it can be disassembled and cleaned once a year or so.

The standard way to check a mask for fit is to just stick it on your face but don't use the strap. see if it says on with just suction. Shake your head and see if it still stays one with no strap. Then choose amoung the ones that stick real good and ignore the others

In any case get the black skirt version.

As I tried to say above "leakage" is due to "fit" or lack thereof. Don't fault the mask if it does not happen to fit you.

newbie question.

so do you try it in a pool first - I hate to arrive at destination (playa) to have a leaking mask? Guess I need to find a pool now. Heading to S-Toys after work to buy a few items. Snorkle, mask, fins and vest.
